MEDTRONIC
LEADING THE WAY IN DBS
Medtronic is a global leader in medical technology, services, and solutions — serving millions of people around the world every day. DBS development started in 1987, and Medtronic has been leading the way ever since. So far, more than 175,000 Medtronic DBS devices have been implanted for Parkinson’s symptoms and other conditions. We are committed to making sure you have the information and support you need to decide whether Medtronic DBS Therapy is right for you.
Cutting-edge technology to inform your DBS therapy decisions:
DBS uses a small, pacemaker-like device, placed under the skin of the chest, to send electronic signals to an area in the brain that controls movement. To give you relief, these signals block some of the brain messages that cause the movement symptoms of Parkinson’s.
Medtronic BrainSense™ technology is the most complete DBS system with sensing and directionality so you can access data-driven insights to tailor therapy with confidence.
Designed to capture a patient’s brain signals, BrainSense™ technology provides clinicians objective data directly from a DBS patient’s brain to understand the impact of treatment decisions such as medication or stimulation
change.
