SUMMARY:Meeting |Panel Discussion: “In-Home Help/Residential Facilities” | Panelists:Ramona Britt\, Valerie Koeppen\, Mike Brown\, Holly & David Condon
DESCRIPTION:Panel Discussion: “In-Home Help/Residential Facilities”\nThis is an opportunity to ask all of your questions about what type of additional help may be best for you as a Parkinson’s patient\, and in conjunction with your care partner (if you have one)\, how to make the best decisions regarding home healthcare versus residential facilities\, and understanding the various types of residential facilities available.\nPanelists:\nRamona Britt and Valerie Koeppen\, Assisted Living Locators of Greater Columbia.\nRamona stepped into the role of Assisted Living Locators franchise owner to provide guidance and care to seniors and families in our community. As a longtime resident of Columbia\, Ramona is an expert on senior care options in our area. Together with clients and their families\, they strive to deliver high quality\, compassionate service and help families manage the transitions they are facing.\nValerie joined Assisted Living Locators as a senior living advisor. After previously working as a licensed mental health counselor\, she now helps families navigate through the maze of senior living options. Valerie excels at advocating and helping families through what can be a confusing process.\nMike Brown\, Vice President of Operations\, Right at Home. Mike joined the Right at Home team in 2013 and comes to us with an impeccable sales and management track record. Since the time\, he joined the Right at Home team Mike’s roles and responsibilities of the business have grown. He is currently the VP of Operations and manages the day to day business operations for the Columbia office. Some of the different roles he has lead involve managing hospital readmission reduction programs funded by the Duke Endowment\, Fullerton Foundations and the Lexington Medical Foundations. His desire to work with seniors to provide a better life for them has driven him to work with organizations like Disabled American Veterans\, Columbia Parkinson’s Support Group\, the Alzheimer’s Association & The ALS Association.\nMike fosters what the future holds for Right at Home\, given the time spent the in the Columbia community\, and being family owned and operated Mike has a bright future for Right at Home in mind.\nMike has been certified as an End-of-Life Doula through the University of Vermont. Completing this Professional Certificate helps with preparing to meet the growing demand for end-of-life support as people live longer and the course of the average dying process continues to become increasingly gradual and anticipated. It also further develops one’s capacity to care for others\, help release death anxieties and increase confidence around entering into intense experiences.\nHolly and David Condon\, Local Senior Advisors\, Senior Care Authority of the Midlands.\nWith over two decades of experience in technology and the fulfilling role of raising a family\, Holly Condon chose to align her passion with a purpose: advocating for vulnerable individuals\, particularly seniors. This decision was profoundly influenced by the challenges she faced within her own family circle. \nTogether with her husband\, David\, whose expertise lies in risk management and legal matters\, they embarked on a heartfelt mission to support seniors in their journey of graceful aging\, preserving their dignity\, and ensuring their well-being. Together\, their driving motivation is to tailor care plans for each senior\, considering their unique needs\, budget\, preferred location\, and cultural sensitivities. \nCertified as a Senior Advisor (CSA) and a Dementia Practitioner (CDP)\, they each possess the knowledge and expertise to guide families through the complexities of care planning. When it comes to evaluating long-term care facilities\, they offer a compassionate and well-informed approach\, assisting families in these pivotal and life-changing decisions.
